the Whale

Before this weekend it seemed The Whale was somewhere you went on Christmas Eve to catch up with everyone from school. Now though, it turns into Battersea's biggest tourist attraction going.

For those overseas, this weekend a whale swam up the Thames and hung out by (the newly reopened to traffic) Battersea Bridge. Most of London turned out to watch and Sky News apparently had live footage all day long.

Except us. We were debating sausage rolls in BotolphClaydon, blissfully unaware of the national news story on our doorsteps. We could have watched from our kitchen window if we'd have known.
