i love new york

The inaugural WhoDoTheyThinkTheyAre annual awards were held recently. Album of the year was awarded by 3 votes to 0 (I get 2 votes, Ms Love gets 1, it's to avoid any dead heats..) to Confessions on the Dance floor by Madonna.

With honourable mentions to Salif Keita, Thomas Chipata (we like world music now, we've been to Africa don't you know..), Gracelands, Mr Brightside and Rob Da Bank at Fabric.

Film of the year got canned because we only went to the cinema once and 2/3 of the voting committee doesn't really like films.

other cities make me feel like a dork

Christmas 2005. Well, as I seem to remember, Phil Collins had helicopters waiting for him at both ends of his dash between London and Philidelphia. No such luck for us. A hour long wait at the Budget car rental desk in Toronto airport during which it looked like we either had to hire a truck or spend the night in the airport. Still everything resolved in the end even if I do now have about 300 complaint letters to write.

Thanks for all the presents and turkey. Arriving in a snow covered Gravenhurst to warm welcomes certainly beat last year and food posioning in Northern India. No contest.

Courtney to write some stuff about the bridal shower here.
