fat charlie the archangel

25 years of going to Crystal Palace and never missed a goal. We were 5 minutes late to Palace v Walsall in 1988 but that one ended 0-0 anyway. And then there was the disasterous losing the car keys night at home to Notts Forest in 1987, but even then I don't remember missing any of the game. So, obviously not counting the handful of games I've been unable to attend, that's 25 (nearly 26) years and not a single minute of action missed.

So this weekend, at home to Millwall, 1-0 down, no sign of an equaliser, Dad had gone 5 minutes early (I think it's his favourite part of the day, seeing how quickly he can get out the car park...), and I thought f**k it, call it a day and get home nice and early to make dinner for Ms Love et sister. So it came to pass that I was at Selhurst station and waiting for the 17.01 to Victoria, when Ben Watson headed in the 93th minute equaliser. Such is life.

Elsewhere, the great Glasgow excursion nears the end. Just one more week. Still no mansion suitable for us to buy anywhere in South London. Christmas shopping etc etc.

Anyway, without a baby of our own to post photos of, it'll have to be the now oft repeated pictures of Albert Bridge.

My biggest regret is that I was not there to see that loud mouthed idiot three rows back, who spent the whole match yelling (none to politely) at Ben Watson, eat his words - that would have been a delicious moment.

Erm, Ben Watson's header was actually a shot with his left foot. Important to get these things right.

You'll have to try harder than this. Do you edit the Observer?
