90 days

Well, this week in Glasgow it managed not to rain till Thursday morning, when, sure enough, the 300m walk from hotel to office/shop, was accompanied by the usual torrential rain, flooded pavements and wet feet. Thankfully it had cleared up by the time I escaped to fly south again, the sun even came out briefly. The weather eh, where do you begin?

Back on the golden paved streets of Chelsea, another weekend spent looking for houses. At least this time the estate agent, despite appearing to be only 12 years old, managed to have all the correct keys and gain access to all the annointed houses. He couldn't get the back door of one house to open but we'll forgive him that.

Today, Sunday, in true Howard and Hilda fashion, we went walking in the countryside. You wouldn't believe the beautiful countryside only minutes on a train from London, truly spiffing. Lunch in a country pub where you can't just order starters on Sundays, wear shoes in the main restaurant, answer your mobile phone, have fun.. the list goes on and on. Anyway, with seconds to spare, it was back on a train and back to the safety of Etchell Towers.

Which brings us onto next week, that rites of passage of any newly engaged couple, the introduction of the respective inlaws to each other. It's all across the Atlantic for 3 days....

We wish to make it clear that we require nothing special to be arranged - red carpet sprinkled with rose petals, slaying of the fatted calf, massed pipes and drums of Gravenhurst marching band, civic banquet with the mayor - just the usual stuff.

Oops! I think we made a mistake. We sprinkled the calf fat on the rose carpet, slayed the band and gave the mayor his marching orders!! Did we get that backwards?? Oh well, no-one's perfect!

See ya!
